Growing up in Gary, Indiana during a time when the steel mills provided a solid foundation for many children (following the Civil Rights Movement) was a true blessing. If there was a male figure he was usually a family member or step-father who didn't permeate unconditional love for all the children in the home. The culture we define as "The Underground" defines the 40 years GOD has spared my life.
